Our company's founder
|
Ron Blunn 1950 to 2006

|
Ron founded Blunn & Company in 1992 after a distinguished
career as a business journalist and editor in North America and
the United Kingdom. He quickly rose to prominence as an investor
relations consultant, authoring new books on print- and web-based
communication and accepting numerous speaking engagements in the
fields of investor communication, financial disclosure and corporate
governance.
Ron believed that most public companies were interested
in open and honest communication and he harnessed his abundant listening
and writing skills to create credible and compelling investment
stories for his clients. He also worked tirelessly to elevate the
role of the IR professional in Canada. Ron served as a director
of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) from
1995 to 2005, Chair of the Issues Committee from 2003 to 2005 and
in 2000 received the prestigious CIRI Award of Excellence
in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession. In February 2007, Ron also became the first Canadian IR professional to posthumously receive IR Magazine’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
As a journalist, and later as an investor relations consultant,
Ron's approach was as simple as it was successful. He believed in
setting the bar high, treating clients and their stakeholders openly
and honestly and always trying to deliver more to clients than they
expected. These beliefs were important to Ron and they will continue
to guide everything we do at Blunn & Company.
